2. 8ಯೇಹುವು ಅಹಾಬನ ಮನೆಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ ಅಹಜ್ಯನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸು ತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ಸಹೋದರರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
3. 9ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಅಹಜ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದನು; ಅವನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಯೇಹು ವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇವನು ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ಣಹೃದಯದಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗನು ಅಂದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸಲು ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು.
4. 10ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಅತಲ್ಯಳು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಸತ್ತನೆಂದು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವಳು ಎದ್ದು ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮನೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದಳು.
5. 11ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಬತಳು ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಅರಸನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ದಾದಿ ಯನ್ನೂ ಮಲಗುವ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿದಳು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅತಲ್ಯಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಯಾಜ ಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋಷಬತಳು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟಳು.ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಇವನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರು ವರುಷ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅತಲ್ಯಳು ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
