2. 13ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಗುಂಪಿನವರು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಬೇತ್ಹೋರೋನಿನ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಮೂರು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಹುಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.
3. 14ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಎದೋಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದ ತರುವಾಯ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ತಾನು ಸೇಯಾ ರನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅವು ತನಗೆ ದೇವರುಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟನು.
4. 15ಆದಕಾರಣ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೋಪವು ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿತು; ಆತನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ತಮ್ಮ ಜನ ರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಲಾರದ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ಹುಡುಕುವದೇನು ಅಂದನು.
5. 16ಅವನು ಅರ ಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ--ಅರಸನ ಯೋಚನಾಕರ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಒಬ್ಬ ನಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯೋ? ನೀನು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೊಡೆಯಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಯೋಚನೆ ಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಲು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
