ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮಚ್ಯನಿಗೆ--ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಂದು ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಿಡವು ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವದಾರಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಲೆಬನೋ ನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಡವಿಯ ಮೃಗವು ಹಾದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರು ವಾಗ ಆ ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಿಡವನ್ನು ತುಳಿಯಿತು.

- 17ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಕೇಳಿ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೇಹುವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮುಖ ವನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬರು ನೋಡೋಣ ಬಾ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
- 18ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮಚ್ಯನಿಗೆ--ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಂದು ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಿಡವು ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವದಾರಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಲೆಬನೋ ನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಡವಿಯ ಮೃಗವು ಹಾದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರು ವಾಗ ಆ ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಿಡವನ್ನು ತುಳಿಯಿತು.
- 19ಇಗೋನಾನು ಎದೋಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಹಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಕೊಚ್ಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈಗ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತಿರು. ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯೆಹೂದವೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವದೇನು ಅಂದನು.
- 20ಆದರೆ ಅಮ ಚ್ಯನು ಕೇಳದೆಹೋದನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಎದೋ ಮ್ಯರ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಆಯಿತು.
