1. 16ಯಾಜ ಕರು ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಶುಚಿಮಾಡಲು ಅದರ ಒಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡ ಮೈಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯ ಅಂಗಳದೊಳಗೆ ತಂದರು; ಆಗ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಕಿದ್ರೋನು ಹಳ್ಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲು ಹೊರಗೆ ಒಯ್ದರು.
2. 17ಅವರು ಮೊದಲನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಮೊದಲನೇ ದಿವಸ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಆ ತಿಂಗಳ ಎಂಟನೇ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ದ್ವಾರಾಂಗಳದ ವರೆಗೂ ಬಂದರು. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಎಂಟು ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಮೊದಲನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಹದಿನಾರನೇ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರಿಸಿದರು.
3. 18ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಆಲಯವನ್ನೂ ದಹನಬಲಿಯ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಮೇಜನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಶುಚಿಮಾಡಿದೆವು.
4. 19ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಆಳಿದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಅಕೃತ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಿಸಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದೆವು; ಇಗೋ, ಅವು ಕರ್ತನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮುಂದಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
5. 20ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
