1. 22ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಯೋಷೀ ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸದೆ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆ ಮಾಜಿದನು. ಅವನು ದೇವರ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ನೆಕೋನನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಮೆಗಿದ್ದೋನು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡ ಬಂದನು.
2. 23ಆಗ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾ ರರು ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆದರು; ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಚೆಗೆ ಒಯ್ಯಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಬಹು ಗಾಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
3. 24ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರು ಆ ರಥದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗಿದ್ದ ಎರಡನೇ ರಥ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ತಂದರು. ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಮಾಧಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು. ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿ ನವರು ಯೋಷೀಯನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟರು.
