ನಾನು ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಟ್ಟು ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿ ದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಇವರ ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ದೇವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ; ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೂ ಅವರ ಮುಂದಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನು, ಅಂದರೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಯನ್ನು ಅಥವಾ ದ್ವೇಷವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲಾರನು.

Ecclesiastes 9:1 in English

King James Version (KJV): For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, [are] in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred [by] all [that is] before them.

2ಎಲ್ಲವು ಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಬಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವವು. ನೀತಿವಂತನಿಗೂ ದುಷ್ಟನಿಗೂ ಸಂಗತಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಶುದ್ಧನಿಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವವನಿಗೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸದವನಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಗತಿಯಾಗುವದು. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ವನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪಾಪಿಯೂ ಇರುವನು; ಆಣೆಯಿಡು ವವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆಣೆಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವ ವನೂ ಇರುವನು.
3ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇದೂ ಒಂದು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದು; ಇದಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ಗತಿಯಿದೆ; ಹೌದು, ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಕುಮಾರರ ಹೃದಯಗಳು ಸಹ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿವೆ; ಅವರು ಜೀವಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರ ಹೃದಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಚ್ಚು ತನವಿದೆ. ಅನಂತರ ಅವರು ಸಾಯುತ್ತಾರೆ (ಸತ್ತವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.)
