1. 1

   ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತೇವೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮಗೆ ತೋರಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಯೋಗ್ಯತಾ ಪತ್ರಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವೋ? ಅಥವಾ ಅಂಥ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಪಡಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕೋ?

   Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some [others], epistles of commendation to you, or [letters] of commendation from you?

   ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತೇವೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮಗೆ ತೋರಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಯೋಗ್ಯತಾ ಪತ್ರಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವೋ? ಅಥವಾ ಅಂಥ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಪಡಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕೋ?

   Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

   ನೀವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬರೆಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದೀರೆಂಬದು ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದೆ; ಅದು ಮಸಿಯಿಂದ ಬರೆದದ್ದಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೇ ಬರೆದದ್ದು; ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಲಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೃದಯವೆಂಬ ಹಲಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆದದ್ದು.

   [Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

4. 4

   ಇಂಥ ಭರವಸವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಮಗುಂಟು.

   And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

   ನಮ್ಮಿಂದಲೇ ಏನಾದರೂ ಉಂಟಾಯಿ ತೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವೇ ಸಮರ್ಥರೆಂತಲ್ಲ; ನಮಗಿರುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವು ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ ಬಂದದ್ದು;

   Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] of God;

   ಆತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಹ ಹೊಸ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಥರಾದ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅಕ್ಷರಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಆತ್ಮನಿಗನು ಸಾರವಾಗಿಯೇ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಕ್ಷರವು ಮರಣ ವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ; ಆತ್ಮವು ಜೀವವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.

   Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

7. 7

   ಆದರೆ ಮರಣದ ಸೇವೆಯು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಲಿಖಿತವಾದ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಆ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಪ್ರಕಾಶವು ಕುಂದಿ ಹೋಗುವಂಥ ದ್ದಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಅವನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡಲಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದರು.

   But if the ministration of death, written [and] engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which [glory] was to be done away:

8. 8

   ಹೀಗಿದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತ್ಮ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದ ಸೇವೆಯು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದಿರುವದಲ್ಲವೇ?

   How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

9. 9

   ಅಪರಾಧ ನಿರ್ಣಯದ ಸೇವೆಯು ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದಿರುವದಾದರೆ ನೀತಿಯ ಸೇವೆಯು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಅಧಿಕವಾದ ಪ್ರಭಾವವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

   For if the ministration of condemnation [be] glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

10. 10

    ಈಗ ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ ಪ್ರಭಾವವುಳ್ಳದ್ದು ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಭಾವವಾಗಿದ್ದದ್ದು ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ವಿಲ್ಲದ್ದಾಯಿತು.

    For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

11. 11

    ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗುವಂಥದ್ದು ಪ್ರಭಾವ ವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಇರುವಂಥದ್ದು ಬಹು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಭಾವವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಬೇಕಲ್ಲವೇ?

    For if that which is done away [was] glorious, much more that which remaineth [is] glorious.

12. 12

    ನಮಗೆ ಇಂಥ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಅತಿ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ.

    Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

13. 13

    ಗತಿಸಿಹೋಗು ವದರ ಅಂತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡಲಾರದಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮುಖದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುಸುಕು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲ.

    And not as Moses, [which] put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

14. 14

    ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಬುದ್ದಿಮಂದವಾಯಿತು, ಆ ಮುಸುಕು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಹಳೇ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯು ಪಾರಾಯಣವಾಗುವಾಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ದಿನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆ ಮುಸುಕು ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಉಳಿದಿದೆ.

    But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in Christ.

15. 15

    ಆದರೆ ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೂ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾರಾಯಣವು ಆಗುವಾಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮುಸುಕು ಅವರ ಹೃದಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.

    But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

16. 16

    ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅವರ ಹೃದಯವು ಕರ್ತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡಾಗಲೇ ಆ ಮುಸುಕು ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವದು.

    Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

17. 17

    ಕರ್ತನು ಆ ಆತ್ಮನೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ಯಾರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೋ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಉಂಟು.ಆದರೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತೆರೆದ ಮುಖವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ದರ್ಪಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಅದೇ ಸಾರೂಪ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಿಂದ ಮಹಿಮೆಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ.

    Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.

18. 18

    ಆದರೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತೆರೆದ ಮುಖವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ದರ್ಪಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಅದೇ ಸಾರೂಪ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಿಂದ ಮಹಿಮೆಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ.

    But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.
