1. 16ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರ ಸಂಗಡ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಾದವರಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಯಾಗಲಿ, ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಾದರೂ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ಹಾಕಿರಬಹುದು ಅಂದರು.
2. 17ಅವನುಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ನಾಚಿಕೆ ಪಡುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು--ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅವರು ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಇವರು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸ ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋದರು.
3. 18ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಇವ ರಿಗೆ--ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳ ಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದನು.
4. 19ಆಗ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನರು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ-- ಇಗೋ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀರು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದು, ಭೂಮಿ ಬಂಜೆಯಾದದ್ದು ಅಂದರು.
5. 20ಅದಕ್ಕ ವನು--ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಗಡಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು.
