ಅವನುಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ನಾಚಿಕೆ ಪಡುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು--ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅವರು ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಇವರು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸ ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋದರು.

- 18ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಇವ ರಿಗೆ--ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳ ಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದನು.
- 19ಆಗ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನರು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ-- ಇಗೋ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀರು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದು, ಭೂಮಿ ಬಂಜೆಯಾದದ್ದು ಅಂದರು.
