1. 20ಅದಕ್ಕ ವನು--ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಗಡಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು.
2. 21ಅವನು ನೀರು ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು; ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ಮರಣವೂ ಬಂಜೆತನವೂ ಆಗದಿರಲೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
3. 22ಎಲೀಷನು ಹೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಆ ನೀರು ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
4. 23ಅವನು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅವನು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿ ರುವಾಗ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹುಡುಗರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಬೋಳ ತಲೆಯವನೇ, ಏರಿ ಹೋಗು; ಬೋಳ ತಲೆಯವನೇ, ಏರಿ ಹೋಗು ಅಂದರು.
5. 24ಅವನು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ--ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅಡವಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎರಡು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಕರಡಿಗಳು ಹೊರಟು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತೆರಡು ಹುಡುಗ ರನ್ನು ಸೀಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟವು.ಅವನು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ಮೆಲು ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು; ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿದನು.
