2. 12ಅದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬಲ ದಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆರೋದಕಬಲದಾನನು, ಹಿಜ್ಕೀ ಯನು ರೋಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾದನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
3. 13ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅವರ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಂಡಾರದ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ಸುಗಂಧಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ತೈಲವನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದನು. ತನ್ನ ಮನೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸದೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಒಂದಾದರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
4. 14ಆಗ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಏನು ಹೇಳಿದರು? ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು ಅಂದನು. ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು--ಅವರು ದೂರ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಅಂದರೆ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.
5. 15ಅವನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಏನು ನೋಡಿದರು ಅಂದನು. ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು--ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ನೋಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ನನ್ನ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸದೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಒಂದಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
