1. 23ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು--ಇಂದು ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆ ಯಲ್ಲ, ಸಬ್ಬತ್ತೂ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕೆ ನೀನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು --ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿರುವದು ಅಂದಳು.
2. 24ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತಡಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ --ನಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು; ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ವರೆಗೂ ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸವಾರಿಯನ್ನು ತಡಮಾಡ ಬೇಡವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕರ್ಮೆಲು ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಳು.
3. 25ಆಗ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಅವಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಗೇಹಜಿಗೆ -- ಇಗೋ, ಆ ಶೂನೇಮ್ಯಳು.
4. 26ನೀನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊ ಳ್ಳಲು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ನಿನಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ? ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳು ಅಂದನು.
5. 27ಅವಳು--ಕ್ಷೇಮವು ಅಂದಳು. ಅವಳು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ, ದೇವರ ಮನು ಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಅವಳನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಲು ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದ ದರಿಂದ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು--ಅವಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡು; ಅವಳ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದುಃಖವಿದೆ; ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
