2. 8ಆಗ ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹೊರಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಲ ಮುಂದೆ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಚೋಬಾದಿಂದಲೂ ರೆಹೋಬ್‌ನಿಂದಲೂ ಇಷ್ಟೋಬ್‌ ನಿಂದಲೂ ಮಾಕನಿಂದಲೂ ಬಂದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಇಳಿದಿದ್ದರು.
3. 9ಯೋವಾಬನು ಯುದ್ಧದ ಮುಖವು ಹಿಂದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ತನಗೆ ಎದುರಾ ಗಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅರಾಮ್ಯ ರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದನು.
4. 10ಆದರೆ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ವರು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟು--
5. 11ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ನನಗಿಂತ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳವರಾದರೆ ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಡ ಬೇಕು; ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿನಗಿಂತ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳವ ರಾದರೆ ನಾನು ಬಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
