1. 6ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಾವು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ವಾದೆವೆಂದು ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವರು (ದೂತರನ್ನು) ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬೇತ್‌ರೆಹೋಬ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಚೋಬಾದ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ಇಪ್ತತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳಾದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನಾದ ಮಾಕನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಇಷ್ಟೋಬ್‌ನಿಂದ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.
2. 7ದಾವೀದನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಯೋವಾಬನನ್ನೂ ಪರಾ ಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾದ ಸಕಲ ಶೂರಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿ ಸಿದನು.
3. 8ಆಗ ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹೊರಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಲ ಮುಂದೆ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಚೋಬಾದಿಂದಲೂ ರೆಹೋಬ್‌ನಿಂದಲೂ ಇಷ್ಟೋಬ್‌ ನಿಂದಲೂ ಮಾಕನಿಂದಲೂ ಬಂದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಇಳಿದಿದ್ದರು.
4. 9ಯೋವಾಬನು ಯುದ್ಧದ ಮುಖವು ಹಿಂದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ತನಗೆ ಎದುರಾ ಗಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅರಾಮ್ಯ ರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದನು.
5. 10ಆದರೆ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ವರು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟು--
