ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಭೋಜನ ಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದನು.
Avanannu ebbisuvadakke avana maneya hiriyaru avana balige bandaru; aadare avanige manassillade ittu. Avara sangada bhojana maadade hodanu.

- 15ಆಗ ನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
- 16ಕರ್ತನು--ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ದಾವೀದ ನಿಗೆ ಹೆತ್ತ ಕೂಸನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಅದು ಬಹಳ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಯಿತು. ದಾವೀದನು ಕೂಸಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೇವ ರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಉಪ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
- 17ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಭೋಜನ ಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದನು.
- 18ಮಗುವು ಏಳನೇ ದಿವಸ ಸತ್ತುಹೋಯಿತು. ಆಗ ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತೆಂದು ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿ ಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಮಗುವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿರುವಾಗ ನಾವು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವಾಗ ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆಹೋದನು. ಈಗ ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತುಹೋಯಿ ತೆಂದು ನಾವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಂಕಟಪಡುವನೋ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
- 19ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರು ಪಿಸುಗುಟ್ಟುವದನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನು ನೋಡಿ ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತುಹೋಯಿತೆಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡನು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ--ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತುಹೋಯಿತೋ ಅಂದನು. ಅವರು --ಸತ್ತುಹೋಯಿತು ಅಂದರು.
