ಯೋವಾಬನು ಕೂಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
Yovaabanu kooshyanige--neenu hogi nodiddannu arasanige tilisu andanu.

- 20ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಡ; ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ದಿವಸ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗ ಬಹುದು. ಅರಸನ ಮಗನು ಸತ್ತದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನೀನು ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗ ಬೇಡ ಅಂದನು.
- 21ಯೋವಾಬನು ಕೂಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
- 22ಕೂಷ್ಯನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಓಡಿಹೋದನು. ಆಗ ಚಾದೋಕನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹೀಮಾಚನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಕೂಷ್ಯನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾಬನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ನೀನು ಓಡುವದು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು ಹೇಗಾ ದರೂ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದಾಗ ಓಡು ಅಂದನು.
- 23ಆಗ ಅಹೀಮಾಚನು ಬೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಓಡಿ ಕೂಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಹೋದನು.
