- 22ಕೂಷ್ಯನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಓಡಿಹೋದನು. ಆಗ ಚಾದೋಕನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹೀಮಾಚನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಕೂಷ್ಯನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾಬನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ನೀನು ಓಡುವದು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು ಹೇಗಾ ದರೂ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದಾಗ ಓಡು ಅಂದನು.
- 23ಆಗ ಅಹೀಮಾಚನು ಬೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಓಡಿ ಕೂಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಹೋದನು.
- 24ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಎರಡು ಬಾಗಲುಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದನು. ಕಾವಲುಗಾರನು ಗೋಪುರದ ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಲಾಗಿ ಇಗೋ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಓಡಿ ಬರು ತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
- 25ಆಗ ಕಾವಲುಗಾರನು ಕೂಗಿ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. ಅರಸನು--ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿ ಬಂದರೆ ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಇರುವದು ಅಂದನು.
