ಆ ದಿನ ಆ ಜಯವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೂ ದುಃಖವಾಯಿತು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ವ್ಯಥೆ ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಜನರು ಕೇಳಿದರು.

Aa dina aa jayavu ellaa janarigoo duhkhavaayitu. Yaakandare arasanu tanna maganigoskara vyathe paduttaa iddaanendu janaru kelidaru.

1ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅರಸನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅತ್ತು ದುಃಖಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾ ನೆಂದು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
2ಆ ದಿನ ಆ ಜಯವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೂ ದುಃಖವಾಯಿತು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ವ್ಯಥೆ ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಜನರು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
3ಆದ ದರಿಂದ ಜನರು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಅವಮಾನ ಪಟ್ಟು ಕಳ್ಳತನವಾಗಿ ಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳತನವಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
4ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು ಮೋರೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಹಾ ಶಬ್ದ ದಿಂದ--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನೇ, ಅಬ್ಷಾ ಲೋಮನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ ಎಂದು ಗೋಳಾಡಿದನು.
