ದಾವೀದನ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವರುಷದಿಂದ ವರುಷಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರು ವರುಷ ಬರ ಉಂಟಾ ಗಿತ್ತು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು. ಕರ್ತನು--ಸೌಲನು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ ದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ರಕ್ತಾಪರಾಧವುಳ್ಳ ಅವನ ಮನೆಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, [It is] for Saul, and for [his] bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. (ಆದರೆ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿರದೆ ಅಮೋರಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. ಸೌಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಯೆಹೂದ ಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ತೋರಿಸಿದ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅವ ರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಲು ಹುಡುಕಿದ್ದನು)
And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites [were] not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
ಆದದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನ್ಯರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನು? ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಯಾವದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತ ಮಾಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
ಆಗ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನ್ಯರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಸೌಲನ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆ ಯವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ನಮಗೆ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯಾದರೂ ಬಂಗಾರವಾದರೂ ಬೇಡ; ನೀನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕ ಬೇಕೆಂಬುವದು ನಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದರು. ಆಗ ಅವನು--ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರೋ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, [that] will I do for you.
ಅವರು ಅರಸನಿಗೆಯಾವನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಾವು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮೇರೆಗಳೊಳಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ
And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us [that] we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
ನಮಗೆ ಕೇಡುಮಾಡಲು ನೆನಸಿದನೋ ಅವನ ಕುಮಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ನಮಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ. ಆಗ ನಾವು ಕರ್ತನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡ ಸೌಲನ ಊರಾದ ಗಿಬೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಾಕು ವೆವು ಅಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು--ನಾನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, [whom] the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give [them].
ಆದರೆ ತಮಗೂ ದಾವೀದ ನಿಗೂ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೂ ಕರ್ತ ನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅರಸನು ಸೌಲನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ
But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’s oath that [was] between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
ಅಯ್ಯಾಹನ ಮಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ರಿಚ್ಪಳು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಹೆತ್ತ ಅವಳ ಇಬ್ಬರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಅರ್ಮೋನೀಯನ್ನೂ ಮೆಫೀಬೋ ಶೆತ ನನ್ನೂ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ವಿಾಕಲಳು ಮೆಹೋಲದವನಾದ ಬರ್ಜಿಲ್ಲೈಯ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಅದ್ರೀಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಸಾಕಿದ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
ಅವರನ್ನು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನ್ಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಈ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿಯೂ ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಬಿದ್ದರು. ಜವೆ ಗೋಧಿಯ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯ ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell [all] seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first [days], in the beginning of barley harvest.
ಆಗ ಅಯ್ಯಾಹನ ಮಗಳಾದ ರಿಚ್ಪಳು ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ ಗುಡ್ಡದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹಾಸಿ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯ ದಿವಸ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಯುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಹಗಲಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳೂ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡವಿಯ ಮೃಗಗಳೂ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
ಅಯ್ಯಾಹನ ಮಗಳಾದ ರಿಚ್ಪಳೆಂಬ ಸೌಲನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೋಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಗಿಲ್ಬೋ ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಲನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದಾಗ ಬೆತ್ಸಾನಿನ ಬೀದಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೂಗು ಹಾಕಿದ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ಯಾಬೇಷ್‌ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಕದ್ದು ಒಯ್ದ
And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
ಸೌಲನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಂದ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಗಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು
And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
ಸೌಲನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ದೇಶದ ಚೇಲಾದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಕೀಷನ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ಅರಸನು ಆಜ್ಞಾ ಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೀರಿಸಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದರು; ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ದಣಿದು ಹೋದನು.
Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
ಆಗ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಶೇಕೆಲ ತೂಕವಾದ ಹಿತ್ತಾಳೆಯ ಈಟಿಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನಡುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಮಹಾ ಶರೀರದವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಷ್ಬೀಬೆನೋಬ್‌ನು ದಾವೀದ ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು.
And Ishbi-benob, which [was] of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear [weighed] three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight, he being girded with a new [sword], thought to have slain David.
ಆದರೆ ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ ದನು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನ ಜನರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಬಿಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡಬೇಡ ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟರು.
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
ತರುವಾಯ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಗೋಬಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಆಗ ಹುಷಾತನಾದ ಸಿಬ್ಬೆಕೈನು ಮಹಾಶರೀರದವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಫ್‌ ಎಂಬವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.
And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which [was] of the sons of the giant.
ತಿರಿಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಗೋಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಉಂಟಾದಾಗ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನವನಾದ ಯಾರೇಯೋರೆ ಗೀಮ್‌ ಎಂಬವನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಹಾನಾನನು ಗಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಗೊಲ್ಯಾತನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಈ ಗೊಲ್ಯಾತನ ಈಟಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯು ನೆಯ್ಯುವವರ ದೋಣೀ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Beth-lehemite, slew [the brother of] Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver’s beam.
ಗತ್‌ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಉಂಟಾದಾಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಕೈಕಾಲುಗಳ ಬೆರಳುಗಳು ಆರು ಆರಾಗಿ ಲೆಖ್ಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಆಗಿದ್ದವು. ಇವನು ಸಹ ಮಹಾಶರೀರದವನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ದನು.
And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಹೋದರನಾಗಿರುವ ಶಿಮ್ಮನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು.ಈ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂದಿಯು ಗತ್‌ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮಹಾಶರೀರದವನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು; ಇವರು ದಾವೀದ ನಿಂದಲೂ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಿಂದಲೂ ಸಂಹಾರವಾದರು.
And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.
ಈ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂದಿಯು ಗತ್‌ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮಹಾಶರೀರದವನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು; ಇವರು ದಾವೀದ ನಿಂದಲೂ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಿಂದಲೂ ಸಂಹಾರವಾದರು.
These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
