ಆಗ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಇಚ್ಚಿ ಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಾನು ಎದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವೆನು ಅಂದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅಬ್ನೇರನಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.

- 20ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅಬ್ನೇರ ನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಔತಣ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.

- 22ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಯೋವಾ ಬನೂ ಒಂದು ಸೈನ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಹಳ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ಇವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇವನು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
- 23ಯೋವಾಬನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯವೂ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ನೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅವನು ಇವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದರು.
