ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಿಸು. ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿ ಯಾಗದ ಕೆಲಸದವನೂ ಸತ್ಯವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ವಿಭಾಗಿಸುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರು.

13ನಾವು ಅಪನಂಬಿಕೆ ಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಆತನು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾಗಿಯೇ ಇರುವನು; ಆತನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯಲಾರನು.
14ಈ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಕ್ಕೆ ತರಬೇಕು. ಕೇಳುವವರಿಗೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುವದೇ ಹೊರತು ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕ್ಕೂಬಾರದ ವಾಗ್ವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಖಂಡಿತ ವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳು.
15ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಿಸು. ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿ ಯಾಗದ ಕೆಲಸದವನೂ ಸತ್ಯವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ವಿಭಾಗಿಸುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರು.
16ಆದರೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಹರಟೆಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸು; ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಭಕ್ತಿಹೀನತೆಯು ಉಂಟಾಗುವದು.
17ಅವರ ಮಾತು ವ್ರಣವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಂತೆ ತಿನ್ನುವದು; ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಮೆನಾಯನೂ ಪಿಲೇತನೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ;
