ಅವನು ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರ ನಡುವೆ ಭೇದಉಂಟಾಯಿತು; ಇದರಿಂದ ಸಮೂಹವೂ ವಿಭಾಗವಾಯಿತು.

- 6ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗ ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರೂ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಭಾಗ ಫರಿಸಾಯರೂ ಇರುವದನ್ನು ಪೌಲನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದಾಗ--ಜನರೇ, ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾನು ಫರಿಸಾಯನು, ಒಬ್ಬ ಫರಿಸಾಯನ ಮಗನು; ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸತ್ತವರ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಾನು ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಆಲೆ

- 8ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವಾಗಲೀ ದೂತನಾ ಗಲೀ ಆತ್ಮನಾಗಲೀ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ಇವೆಯೆಂದು ಫರಿಸಾ ಯರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
- 9ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೂಗಾಟ ಉಂಟಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಪಕ್ಷದವರಾದ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳು ಎದ್ದು--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ದ್ದನ್ನೂ ನಾವು ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆತ್ಮವಾಗಲೀ ದೇವದೂತ ನಾಗಲೀ ಅವನ ಕೂಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆ ನಾವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡದೆ ಇರೋಣ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ವಾಗ್ವಾದ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
