ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವಾಗಲೀ ದೂತನಾ ಗಲೀ ಆತ್ಮನಾಗಲೀ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ಇವೆಯೆಂದು ಫರಿಸಾ ಯರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

- 8ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವಾಗಲೀ ದೂತನಾ ಗಲೀ ಆತ್ಮನಾಗಲೀ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ಇವೆಯೆಂದು ಫರಿಸಾ ಯರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
- 9ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೂಗಾಟ ಉಂಟಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಪಕ್ಷದವರಾದ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳು ಎದ್ದು--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ದ್ದನ್ನೂ ನಾವು ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆತ್ಮವಾಗಲೀ ದೇವದೂತ ನಾಗಲೀ ಅವನ ಕೂಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆ ನಾವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡದೆ ಇರೋಣ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ವಾಗ್ವಾದ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
- 10ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಭೇದ ಉಂಟಾದಾಗ ಅವರು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಎಳೆದಾಡಿ ತುಂಡುತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯ ನಾಯಕನು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬಲವಂತವಾಗಿ ಕೋಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ತರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸೈನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
