1. 6ಆಗ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ಎದ್ದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು.
2. 7ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂರು ತಾಸುಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದಳು.
3. 8ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆಕೆಗೆ--ನೀವು ಆ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ಇಷ್ಟೇ ಹಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಿದಿರೋ? ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕೆಯು--ಹೌದು, ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೇ ಅಂದಳು.
4. 9ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆಕೆಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಹೇಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಿ ದ್ದೀರಿ? ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಗಂಡನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟವರ ಪಾದಗಳು ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆ, ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವರು ಅಂದನು.
5. 10ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನ ಪಾದಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರಾಣ ಬಿಟ್ಟಳು. ಆಗ ಆ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದು ಆಕೆಯು ಸತ್ತಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಗಂಡನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು.
