ರಥವನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿ ಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ಆಗ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಅಂದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನೂ ಕಂಚುಕಿಯೂ ನೀರಿನೊಳಗೆ ಇಳಿದರು; ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನು ಕಂಚುಕಿಗೆ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.

- 36ಅವರು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ನೀರಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಕಂಚುಕಿಯು--ಅಗೋ, ನೀರು; ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಏನು ಅಂದನು.
- 37ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನು--ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ನಂಬುವದಾದರೆ ಆಗ ಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯು ತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನನ್ನು ದೇವಕುಮಾರನೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಂಬುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ

- 39ಅವರು ನೀರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲಾಗಿ ಕಂಚುಕಿಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲೇಇಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದಾರಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಸಂತೋಷವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.ತರುವಾಯ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನು ಅಜೋತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕೈಸರೈಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ತನಕ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದನು.
- 40ತರುವಾಯ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನು ಅಜೋತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕೈಸರೈಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ತನಕ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದನು.
