ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಂಡ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚತುರ್ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಗಾಳಿಗಳು ಮಹಾ ಸಾಗರದ ಮೇಲೆ ರಭಸವಾಗಿ ಬೀಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.

Daaniyelanu maatanaadi--igo, naanu raatri kanda kanasinalli chaturdikkina gaaligalu mahaa saagarada mele rabhasavaagi beesuttiddavu.

1ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬೇಲ್ಯಚ್ಚರನ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಕನಸನ್ನೂ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡು; ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದು ಅದರ ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
2ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಂಡ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚತುರ್ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಗಾಳಿಗಳು ಮಹಾ ಸಾಗರದ ಮೇಲೆ ರಭಸವಾಗಿ ಬೀಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.
3ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆಯ ರೂಪದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೃಗಗಳು ಸಮು ದ್ರದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದವು.
4ಮೊದಲನೆಯದು ಸಿಂಹದ ಹಾಗಿದ್ದು ಹದ್ದಿನ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದರ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳು ಕೀಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಅದು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಎತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಮನುಷ್ಯನಂತೆ ಕಾಲೂರಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು.
