ಕರ್ತನು ಮಹಾಬಲವಾದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅದು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಕೆಂಪುಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿತು. ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ಮಿಡತೆಯಾದರೂ ಉಳಿಯ ಲಿಲ್ಲ.

- 19ಕರ್ತನು ಮಹಾಬಲವಾದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅದು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಕೆಂಪುಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿತು. ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ಮಿಡತೆಯಾದರೂ ಉಳಿಯ ಲಿಲ್ಲ.
- 20ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಫರೋಹನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ ಹೋದನು.
- 21ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಲೆ ಕವಿದು ಗಾಡಾಂಧಕಾರವಾಗುವಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಚಾಚು ಅಂದನು.
