ಅವರು ಈ ವರೆಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು. ಅವರು ಮೈಗಳ್ಳರೇ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು--ನಾವು ಹೋಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸೋಣ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.

King James Version (KJV): And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish [ought] thereof: for they [be] idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go [and] sacrifice to our God.
World English Bible (WEB): You shall require from them the number of the bricks which they made before. You shall not diminish anything of it, for they are idle. Therefore they cry, saying, ‘Let’s go and sacrifice to our God.’

6ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಫರೋಹನು ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸುವವರಿಗೂ ಅವರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಗಳಿಗೂ--
7ನೀವು ಇನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಅವರೇ ಹೋಗಿ ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.
8ಅವರು ಈ ವರೆಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು. ಅವರು ಮೈಗಳ್ಳರೇ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು--ನಾವು ಹೋಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸೋಣ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
9ಈ ಜನರು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕೊಡದಂತೆ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಿಸಿರಿ, ಅವರು ದುಡಿಯಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
10ಆಗ ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸುವವರೂ ಅಧಿ ಕಾರಿಗಳೂ ಹೊರಗೆಹೋಗಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ--ಫರೋಹನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಕೊಡು ವದಿಲ್ಲ.
