2. 7ಕರ್ತನು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು--ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತನಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದನು.
3. 8ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಅವನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನ ಪೂರ್ವದ ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇತೇಲು ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯಿಯು ಇರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡನು.
4. 9ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದನು.
5. 10ಆಗ ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರ ಉಂಟಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋದನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಬರವು ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಘೋರವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
