ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಏದೆನ್‌ ತೋಟ ವನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾಯುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು.

- 17ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದು ಕೆಟ್ಟದರ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಮರದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ನೀನು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು; ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಂದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವಿ ಅಂದನು.
