ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ ಆಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಲದ ಯಾವ ಗಿಡವಾದರೂ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಬೆಳೆದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಹೊಲದ ಯಾವ ಪಲ್ಯವಾದರೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮೊಳೆತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

- 6ಆದರೆ ಭೂಮಿ ಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮಂಜು ಏರಿಬಂದು ನೆಲವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೋಯಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
- 7ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಮೂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಶ್ವಾಸ ವನ್ನು ಊದಿದನು; ಆಗ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಜೀವಾತ್ಮ ನಾದನು.
