ಆಗ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸಾಕನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ನಿವಾಸವು ಭೂಮಿಯಸಾರ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಆಕಾಶದ ಮಂಜಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಇರುವದು.

- 38ಏಸಾವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಆ ಒಂದೇ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವು ನಿನಗೆ ಇದೆಯೋ? ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಹೌದು, ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸು ಎಂದು ಅವನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗಿ ಅತ್ತನು.
- 39ಆಗ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸಾಕನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ನಿವಾಸವು ಭೂಮಿಯಸಾರ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಆಕಾಶದ ಮಂಜಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಇರುವದು.
- 40ನಿನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ನೀನು ಬದುಕುವಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವಿ; ಆದರೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವವು ಬಂದಾಗ ಆಗುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಅವನ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರಳಿನಿಂದ ಮುರಿದು ಹಾಕುವಿ.
- 41ತಂದೆಯು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಏಸಾವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿ--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದುಃಖಪಡುವ ದಿನಗಳು ಸವಿಾಪ ವಾಗಿವೆ, ತರುವಾಯ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ನಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
