ಅದೇ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಪ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ; ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಇವುಗಳು ಹೀಗಿರಬಾರದು.

Ade baayinda aasheervaada mattu shaapa baruttave; nanna sahodarare, ivugalu heegirabaaradu.

8ಆದರೆ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾವ ಮಾನವನೂ ಹತೋ ಟಿಗೆ ತರಲಾರನು. ಅದು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನವಾಗದ ಕೆಡುಕಾ ಗಿದೆ; ಮರಣಕರವಾದ ವಿಷದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿ ಇದೆ.
9ಅದೇ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಆದರಿಂದಲೇ ದೇವರ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಾವು ಶಪಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
10ಅದೇ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಪ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ; ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಇವುಗಳು ಹೀಗಿರಬಾರದು.
11ಒಂದೇ ಊಟೆಯು ಸಿಹಿನೀರನ್ನೂ ಕಹಿನೀರನ್ನೂ ಒಂದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವದುಂಟೇ?
12ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಅಂಜೂರದ ಮರವು ಎಣ್ಣೇಮರದ ಕಾಯಿ ಬಿಡುವದೋ? ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಜೂರದ ಹಣ್ಣಾಗುವದೋ? ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯಾವ ಊಟೆಯೂ ಉಪ್ಪು ನೀರನ್ನೂ ಸಿಹಿ ನೀರನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಲಾರದು.
