ರೇಕಾಬ್ಯರ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ --ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಾದ ಯೋನಾದಾಬನ ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಅವನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ,ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ರೇಕಾಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾ ದಾಬ ಸಂತಾನದವರೊಳಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

17ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರೂ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನೂ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಗಳೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅವರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ಕೇಡನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬರಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಾನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವಾಗ ಅವರು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯು ವಾಗ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
