ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಖೀನನ ಸೆರೆಯ ಮೂವತ್ತೇಳನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ಹನ್ನೆರಡನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದನೇ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂ ದರೆ--ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಎವೀಲ್ಮೆರೋದಕನು ತನ್ನ ಆಳಿಕೆಯ ಮೊದಲನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಖೀನನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತರಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ

32ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾ ಸನವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅರಸರ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿದನು.
33ಆಗ ಅವನು ಬದುಕಿದ ದಿನಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.ಅವನ ಆಹಾರದ ವಿಷಯ ವೇನಂದರೆ--ಅವನು ಬದುಕಿದ ದಿನಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ದಿನದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಆಹಾರವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
