ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಅಂಧಕಾರವು ಮುತ್ತಲಿ, ಅದು ವರುಷದ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡದಿರಲಿ; ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರದಿರಲಿ.

4ಆ ದಿವಸವು ಕತ್ತಲಾಗಲಿ; ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸದಿರಲಿ; ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸದಿರಲಿ.
5ಕತ್ತಲೂ ಮರಣದ ನೆರಳೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಅಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲಿ; ಮೋಡವು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ವಾಸಮಾಡಲಿ; ಹಗಲಿನ ಮೊಬ್ಬುಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೆದ ರಿಸಲಿ.
6ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಅಂಧಕಾರವು ಮುತ್ತಲಿ, ಅದು ವರುಷದ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡದಿರಲಿ; ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರದಿರಲಿ.
7ಇಗೋ, ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯು ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ; ಆನಂದ ಸ್ವರವು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದಿರಲಿ.
8ತಮ್ಮ ಶೋಕಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವ ಆ ದಿನವು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ.
