ಯೋಬನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
But Job answered and said,
ನನ್ನ ವ್ಯಥೆಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೂಗಿದರೆ, ನನ್ನ ಶ್ರಮೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ರಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಲೇಸು.
Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
ಈಗಲೇ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮರಳಿಗಿಂತ ಅದು ಭಾರವಾಗಿದೆ; ಆದ ದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನುಂಗಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು.
For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my words are swallowed up.
ಸರ್ವ ಶಕ್ತನ ಬಾಣಗಳು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆ; ಅವುಗಳ ವಿಷವು ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತವೆ; ದೇವರ ಹೆದರಿಕೆಗಳು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಇಳಿದವು.
For the arrows of the Almighty [are] within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
ಹುಲ್ಲು ಇದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಡು ಕತ್ತೆಯು ಕೂಗುವದೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮೇವು ಇದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತು ಅರಚುತ್ತದೋ?
Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?
ರುಚಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದನ್ನು ಉಪ್ಪಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುತ್ತದೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕೋಳಿ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯ ಲೋಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರುಚಿ ಯುಂಟೋ?
Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there [any] taste in the white of an egg?
ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಮುಟ್ಟಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರು ವಂಥವುಗಳೇ ನನ್ನ ದುಃಖದ ಆಹಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇವೆ.
The things [that] my soul refused to touch [are] as my sorrowful meat.
ನನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ದೇವರು ಲಾಲಿಸಿ, ನಾನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಆತನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಲೇಸು.
Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant [me] the thing that I long for!
ನಾನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವದು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾಗುವದಾದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಾಯಿಸಿದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆದು.
Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
ಹೀಗಾ ದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಆದರಣೆ ಇರುವುದು; ಹೌದು, ನಾನು ದುಃಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮರೆ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.
ನಾನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಏನು? ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಆಯುಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಅಂತ್ಯವೇನು?
What [is] my strength, that I should hope? and what [is] mine end, that I should prolong my life?
ನನ್ನ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳ ಶಕ್ತಿಯೋ? ನನ್ನ ಶರೀರವು ಹಿತ್ತಾಳೆಯದೋ?
[Is] my strength the strength of stones? or [is] my flesh of brass?
ನನ್ನೊಳಗಿನ ಸಹಾಯವು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಯಿತಲ್ಲವೋ? ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ನೂಕಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
[Is] not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?
ಸಂಕಟಪಡುವವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಿಂದ ದಯೆ ದೊರೆ ಯತಕ್ಕದ್ದು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
To him that is afflicted pity [should be shewed] from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರು ಹಳ್ಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಹಳ್ಳಗಳ ಪ್ರವಾಹದಂತೆ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, [and] as the stream of brooks they pass away;
ಅವು ಮಂಜುಗಡ್ಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕಪ್ಪಾ ಗಿವೆ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಮವು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.
Which are blackish by reason of the ice, [and] wherein the snow is hid:
ಉಷ್ಣ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವು ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ; ಶೆಕೆಯಾದಾಗ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆರಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ.
What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
ಹಾದಿಗಳು ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಓರೆಯಾಗಿ ಅವು ಹೋಗು ತ್ತವೆ; ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ.
The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing, and perish.
ತೇಮದ ಗುಂಪಿ ನವರು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಶೆಬದ ಸಮೂಹದವರು ಅವು ಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರುನೋಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The troops of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them.
ಅವರು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾಚುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಅವುಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಲಜ್ಜೆಗೊಂಡರು
They were confounded because they had hoped; they came thither, and were ashamed.
ಈಗ ನೀವು ಏನೂ ಅಲ್ಲದವರಾ ಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ; ನನ್ನ ವಿಪತ್ತನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತೀರಿ.
For now ye are nothing; ye see [my] casting down, and are afraid.
ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತನ್ನಿರಿ ಎಂದೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಲಂಚಕೊಡಿರಿ ಎಂದೂ
Did I say, Bring unto me? or, Give a reward for me of your substance?
ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿರಿ ಎಂದೂ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರಿಗಳ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿರೆಂದೂ ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದೆನೋ?
Or, Deliver me from the enemy’s hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?
ನನಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿರಿ, ನಾನು ಮೌನವಾಗಿರುವೆನು; ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ.
Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
ಸರಿಯಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಎಷ್ಟು ಬಲವಾಗಿವೆ! ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತರ್ಕವು ಯಾವದನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ?
How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove?
ಗಾಳಿಯ ಹಾಗಿರುವ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವನ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗದರಿಸು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತೀರೋ?
Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate, [which are] as wind?
ಹೌದು, ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲೆ ಹಾಕುತ್ತೀರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕುಣಿಯನ್ನು ಅಗೆಯುತ್ತೀರಿ.
Yea, ye overwhelm the fatherless, and ye dig [a pit] for your friend.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ಸಂತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಾಣುವದು.
Now therefore be content, look upon me; for [it is] evident unto you if I lie.
ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗದಿರಲಿ; ಹೌದು, ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಇನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ನೀತಿಯು ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವದು.ನನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಉಂಟೋ? ನನ್ನ ಅಂಗಳವು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ರುಚಿ ನೋಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Return, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, return again, my righteousness [is] in it.
ನನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಉಂಟೋ? ನನ್ನ ಅಂಗಳವು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ರುಚಿ ನೋಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Is there iniquity in my tongue? cannot my taste discern perverse things?
