ಸೇವಕನು ನೆರಳನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೂ ಕೂಲಿಯವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೂಲಿಯನ್ನು ಕೋರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾ ರವೂ

1ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕಾಲ ಉಂಟಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅವನ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಕೂಲಿಯವನ ದಿವಸಗಳ ಹಾಗಲ್ಲವೋ?
2ಸೇವಕನು ನೆರಳನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೂ ಕೂಲಿಯವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೂಲಿಯನ್ನು ಕೋರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾ ರವೂ
3ನಾನು ಸಹ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಯಿತು; ಬೇಸರಿಕೆಯ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಗಳು ನನಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು.
4ಮಲಗುವ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವಾಗ ಏಳುವೆನೆಂದೂ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗು ತ್ತದೆಂದೂ ಅಂದೆನು. ಉದಯದ ವರೆಗೆ ಹೊರಳಾ ಡುವದು ನನಗೆ ಸಾಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ
