ಆಗ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಅವನು ನಿದ್ರೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗುವನು ಅಂದರು.

10ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡಿದರೆ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕು ಇಲ್ಲವಾದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಎಡವುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
11ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಾದ ಲಾಜರನು ನಿದ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವದಾಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
12ಆಗ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಅವನು ನಿದ್ರೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗುವನು ಅಂದರು.
13ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವನ ಮರಣದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ನಿದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಕುರಿತು ಆತನು ಹೇಳಿದ ನೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸಿದರು.
14ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಲಾಜರನು ಸತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
