1. 11ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಾದ ಲಾಜರನು ನಿದ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವದಾಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
2. 12ಆಗ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಅವನು ನಿದ್ರೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗುವನು ಅಂದರು.
3. 13ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವನ ಮರಣದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ನಿದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಕುರಿತು ಆತನು ಹೇಳಿದ ನೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸಿದರು.
4. 14ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಲಾಜರನು ಸತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
5. 15ನೀವು ನಂಬು ವಂತೆ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಹೇಗೂ ನಾವು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
