ಆಗ ಅವರು ಸತ್ತವನನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದರು. ಯೇಸು ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡಿ--ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.

- 42ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಕೇಳುತ್ತೀ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಜನರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೀ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ನಂಬುವಂತೆ ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
- 43ಆತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ--ಲಾಜರನೇ, ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಾ ಎಂದು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಸ್ವರದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿದನು.
