ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ-- ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ತಂದೆಯು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನು ಕಂಡದ್ದನ್ನಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಗನು ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ಯಾವದನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರನು; ಆತನು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಗನೂ ಮಾಡುವನು.

Aaga yesu pratyuttaravaagi avarige-- naanu nimage nijanijavaagi heluttene, tandeyu maaduvadannu kandaddannallade maganu tannashtakke taane yaavadannoo maadalaaranu; aatanu maaduvadannellaa haageye maganoo maaduvanu.

King James Version (KJV): Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

18ಆದದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ತನ್ನು ವಿಾರಿದ್ದು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ದೇವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ತಂದೆ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಕಾರಣ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

20ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ತಂದೆಯು ಮಗನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ತಾನು ಸ್ವತಃ ಮಾಡುವವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನೀವು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇವುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮಹತ್ತಾದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುವನು.
21ತಂದೆಯು ಹೇಗೆ ಸತ್ತವರನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಬದುಕಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಗನೂ ತನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಿರು ವವರನ್ನು ಬದುಕಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
