1. 10ಉದಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಎದ್ದು ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಮಾಡಿ ತಾನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆದು ಆಯಿಗೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋದರು.
2. 11ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸವಿಾಪವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಸೇರಿ ಆಯಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಆಯಿಗೂ ಅವರಿಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ತಗ್ಗು ಇತ್ತು.
3. 12ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಐದು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೂ ಆಯಿಗೂ ನಡುವೆ ಹೊಂಚಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟನು.
4. 13ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಕಲ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕುವವರನ್ನೂ ಇಟ್ಟ ತರುವಾಯ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಮಧ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
5. 14ಆಯಿಯ ಅರಸನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನರು ತ್ವರೆಪಟ್ಟು ಉದಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಲು ಬೈಲಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹಿಂದೆ ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೊಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ವರನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
