ಆಗ ನೀವು ಹೊಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವನು.

- 5ಆದರೆ ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರುವೆವು; ಆಗ ಆಗುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಅವರು ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುವಾಗ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾವು ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವೆವು.
- 6ಆಗ ಅವರು--ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ (ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊರಡುವರು;) ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಎಳಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವೆವು.
- 7ಆಗ ನೀವು ಹೊಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವನು.
- 8ನೀವು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ನೀವು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ನೋಡು, ನಾನು ಇದನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
- 9ಯೆಹೋ ಶುವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಹೋಗಿ ಹೊಂಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೂ ಆಯಿಗೂ ನಡುವೆ ಆಯಿಗೆ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದ ಕಡೆ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡನು.
