ಆದರೆ ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರುವೆವು; ಆಗ ಆಗುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಅವರು ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುವಾಗ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾವು ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವೆವು.

- 3ಆಗ ಆಯಿಗೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋಗಲು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರೂ ಎದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾದ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
- 4ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹಿಂದೆ ನೀವು ಹೊಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿರ್ರಿ; ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಹುದೂರ ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ.
- 5ಆದರೆ ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರುವೆವು; ಆಗ ಆಗುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಅವರು ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುವಾಗ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾವು ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವೆವು.
- 6ಆಗ ಅವರು--ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ (ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊರಡುವರು;) ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಎಳಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವೆವು.
- 7ಆಗ ನೀವು ಹೊಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವನು.
