ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಒಂದು ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಎಲುಬುಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ತುಂಡು ಗಳಾಗಿ ಕಡಿದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇರೆ ಗಳಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.ಆಗ ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ವರೆಲ್ಲಾ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ದಿವಸ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಈ ಪರ್ಯಂತರ ಇಂಥಾ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಆದದ್ದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಕಾಣಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
