ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅಗ್ನಿ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಹೊಗೆಯ ಸ್ತಂಭ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿತು.
Aadare pattanadolaginda agni jvaaleyu hogeya stambha sahitavaagi eluvadakke praarambhisitu. Benyaaviాnyaru hindakke adannu tirugi nodidaaga igo, pattanada jvaaleyu aakaashakke eritu.

- 41ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಾಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಜನರು ತಲ್ಲಣ ಗೊಂಡರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಡು ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಕಂಡರು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನು ಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
- 42ಆದರೆ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿ ಯಿತು. ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುವ ಜನರನ್ನು ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು.
