ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೆಗೆದಾಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಡಿಮೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಾಗ ಮೊದಲು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಮುರಿಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡರು.

King James Version (KJV): And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite [and] kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as [in] the first battle.
World English Bible (WEB): The men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to strike and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons; for they said, “Surely they are struck down before us, as in the first battle.”

38ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರ ಸಂಗಡ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಗುರುತೇ ನಂದರೆ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮಹಾದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೊಗೆಯನ್ನು ಏಳಮಾಡುವದೇ.
39ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೆಗೆದಾಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಡಿಮೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಾಗ ಮೊದಲು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಮುರಿಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡರು.
40ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅಗ್ನಿ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಹೊಗೆಯ ಸ್ತಂಭ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿತು.
41ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಾಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಜನರು ತಲ್ಲಣ ಗೊಂಡರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಡು ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಕಂಡರು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನು ಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
