Then Jerubbaal, who [is] Gideon, and all the people that [were] with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

1. 1ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನೆಂಬ ಯೆರುಬ್ಬಾಳನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಹರೋದಿನ ಬಾವಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದರು. ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರ ದಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋರೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದಿತ್ತು.
2. 2ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯ ರನ್ನು ಜನರ ಕೈಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರುನನ್ನ ಕೈ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪಟ್ಟಾರು.
3. 3ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಜನರು ಕೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ--ಯಾವನಿಗೆ ಭಯವೂ ಹೆದರಿ ಕೆಯೂ ಉಂಟೋ ಅವನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್‌ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಿಂದ ಹೋಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಮಾಡು ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದರು; ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಉಳಿದರು.
