1. 5ಅವನು ಸುಖೋತಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ--ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನ ಕೂಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಿರಿ. ಅವರು ದಣಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ನಾನು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರ ಅರಸುಗಳಾದ ಜೆಬಹನನ್ನೂ ಚಲ್ಮುನ್ನನನ್ನೂ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟು ತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
2. 6ಆದರೆ ಸುಖೋತಿನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಜೆಬಹ ಚಲ್ಮುನ್ನರ ಕೈ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈ ವಶವಾಗಿದೆಯೋ ಅಂದರು.
3. 7ಆಗ ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು--ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಜೆಬಹನನ್ನೂ ಚಲ್ಮುನ್ನನನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ತರುವಾಯ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ನೆಗ್ಗಿಲು ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಹರಿದುಬಿಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
4. 8ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಪೆನೂವೇ ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ಊರಿನವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಆ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು. ಅವರು ಸುಖೋತಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
5. 9ಆಗ ಅವನು ಪೆನೂವೇಲಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸಹ--ನಾನು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ಈ ಗೋಪು ರವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
